Custard

We've got to give credit to Doves FArm for this recipe as we took the initial idea from them and tweaked it slightly. But oh my days it is amazing! All you need is three ingredients to make the most delicious vegan custard. Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

450ml Oatly Barista (or alternative plant based milk)

3 tbsp Maple Syrup / Sweet Freedom / Coconut Sugar (maybe a little more if you have a sweet tooth)

2 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

3 tbsp cornlflour

Directions

  1. Measure the milk into a jug then pour it, except 100ml, into a saucepan.

  2. Add the sweetener and vanilla to the saucepan. Heat the pan, stirring occasionally, until fully combined

  3. Add the cornflour to the milk in the jug and stir until smooth.

  4. Pour the warm milk into the jug, stir then immediately pour everything back into the saucepan.

  5. Cook over a medium heat, stirring occasionally as the custard thickens.

  6. Bring to the boil then remove from the heat.

  7. Return the custard to the jug and serve.
